Adam Johnson is an American author and lecturer. He made a name for himself as an accomplished author with his novels; The Orphan Master’s Son and Parasites Like Us. Besides writing novels, he is also known for his work on short stories like his critically acclaimed Fortune Smiles. He has been a creative writing professor at Stanford University. He has also had stories published in noted magazines such as Harper’s Magazine, Ninth Letter, Esquire, The Paris Review and The Sunday Times Magazine.
Achievements
He won the Amazon.com Debut Writer of the Year award in 2002. In 2013, The Orphan Master’s Son won Johnson both the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the Dayton Literary Prize for Fiction. He was the National Book Award for Fiction winner in 2015 for his collection of short stories titled Fortune Smiles.
