About Adam Shankman
Adam Shankman is an actor, author, dancer, choreographer, film director and producer from America. He started his career as a dancer in high school. He has been featured as a dancer in several music videos such as “Alright” by Janet Jackson, and MC Skat Kat video.
Career
Since 1989, he has been a professional choreographer both on screen and on stage. His credits include “Friends”, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, “George of the Jungle” and “Catch Me If You Can”. He has also performed with artists and bands such as Whitney Houston and Tony! Toni! Toné!.
In 2001, Shankman launched his professional directing career with the movie “The Wedding Planner”. Other movies he has directed include “A Walk to Remember” in 2002, “Bringing Down the House” in 2003, and “Hairspray” in 2007.
Adam became a film producer in 2006 when he produced “Step Up”. In addition to that, he has also produced other films such as “Going the Distance”, “Step Up Revolution” and “Step Up: Year of the Dance”.
As an actor, he made his debut in 1983 with “The Wind in the Willows”. Other films he has starred in include “The Gun in Betty Lou's Handbag” in 1992, “Cheaper by the Dozen 2” in 2005 and “Hell's Kitchen” in 2013.

He was educated at Palisades High School and Juilliard School.
Family
He is the child of Phyllis and Ned Shankman. He has a sibling called Jennifer Gibgot.
Awards
In 1996, he was awarded a Bob Fosse Award for “Best Choreography in a Commercial”.
Trivia
He is the co-owner of Offspring Entertainment alongside his sister.
He served as both a judge and choreographer on the TV reality show titled “So You Think You Can Dance” for 7 seasons (season 3 to 10).
