About Adolph Rupp
Adolph Rupp was an accomplished former American college basketball coach, best remembered for his 41-year tenure as head coach at the University of Kentucky. He was widely recognized as one of the most talented men's collegiate basketball coaches in the world, winning 876 games and ranking seventh all-time among men's NCAA Division I victories.
He led his teams to four NCAA Division I Tournament championships and was voted National Coach of the Year five times and SEC Coach of the Year eight times during his distinctive coaching career.
He was considered to be a wonderful mentor. Several of the players he coached went on to become outstanding players and distinguished coaches in the NBA.

He was married to Esther Schmidt from 1931 and remained with her till he died in 1977.
