Alec Guinness was an English actor.
Career
While he was still in school, Alec Guinness began working for the Old Vic theatre. He mainly did Shakespeare roles while with them. Guinness had a short service in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he continued acting at the Old Vic. During the 1950s, Guinness started acting in many films, most of them being early comedies. He has been in many classic films like Bridge on the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia, and Dr. Zhivago. He is perhaps most famous for playing Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars.
