Alexander Fleming was a Scottish scientist. He was a biologist, a pharmacologist and a botanist.
His Legacy
He discovered the enzyme lysozyme in 1923 and the antibiotic substance benzylpenicillin in 1928. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945, along with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain.
His Personal Life
He was married twice and he had a son, Robert Fleming, who later became a general medical practitioner.

There was a false myth that Winston Churchill's father paying for his education, after Fleming's father saved young Winston from death!
