About Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States and the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States – a position that saw him author the majority of the economic policies of George Washington's administration. Those policies still affect the U.S. government today. He tragically died of a gunshot wound during a duel to death with Vice President Aaron Burr in 1804.
Personal Life
He married Elizabeth Schuyler in December 1780 and fathered eight children with her.
Achievements
He founded the Federalist Party, Bank of New York, and The New York Post. He also founded the United States' financial system. In 1790, the United States Coast Guard was created by the U.S. Congress at the request of Hamilton.
Trivia
Hamilton's first child was also killed in a duel.
