About Alexander I of Russia
Alexander I was crowned as the leader of the Russian Empire in 1801 after the death of his father, Emperor Paul I. In 1815, he became the first ruler of the state known as Congress Poland. Prior to that, he was made the Grand Duke of Finland, a position he occupied until his death in 1825.
He joined forces with Britain to fight Napoleon in what would be known as the ‘War of the Third Coalition’.
