Early Years
Cornet was born in Nice, France to Francis and Patricia, who encouraged her to follow her athletic dreams when she was young. She took up tennis at four years old and had a successful junior career, winning the French Open girls’ title in 2007 and reaching the Italian Open Final the following year.
Grand Slam Career
She had a successful run in the years that followed, eventually cementing herself as a formidable opponent when she defeated Serena Williams three separate times in 2014. In 2022, she reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal and later competed in the Wimbledon Championships marking her 62nd appearance in the major tennis tournaments.
