Amanda Tapping is a Canadian actress, director and producer famous for her portrayal of the characters Helen Magnus in the science fiction-fantasy TV seriesSanctuary and Samantha Carter in the Stargate series of television shows and films.
Family Life
She grew up with three brothers. In 1994, she and Alan Kovacs got married. The pair welcomed a daughter named Olivia in 2005.
Awards
Between 2002 and 2009, she won a total of three Leo Awards and a Saturn Award. For her role in the short film Breakdown, she won a Canadian Comedy Award in 2007.
Trivia
Her brother Steven, who suffered from epilepsy all his life, died tragically in 2006.
She is the co-founder of the comedy group Random Acts.
