About Amartya Sen
Amartya Sen is an Indian economist.
His Highlights/Legacy
He is a Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University and he has also served as the chancellor of Nalanda University. He also is an honorary fellow of many other Universities. He has mostly worked on welfare economics and economic and social justice.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1988 and the Adam Smith Prize in 1954.
His Personal Life
He was born in what is now called Bangladesh in 1933. He is of Bengali descent. He is a communist. He has been married 3 times and he has 4 children.
