Amine, born Adam Amine Daniel, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter whose rise to stardom was propelled by his debut commercial single, Caroline, which was released in 2016. He followed that up with Good for You, his debut studio album, in July 2017.
Family life
His parents were Ethiopian and Eritrean immigrants to the United States. His mother was a post office worker while his father did teaching and part-time translating work.
Achievements
In 2017, Amine was nominated for a BET Hip Hop Award in the Best New Hip Hop Artist category. His track, Caroline entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 96 in March 2016. It later peaked at number 11 in the same year. The song received a three-time Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in June 2017.
