About Amr Khaled
The Egyptian Muslim preacher and activist is regarded as one of the world’s 100 most significant people according to Time magazine. He played a part in the formation of the political party, Egypt Party in January 2011 and later became its President. He is the author of the novel “Rafi Barakat”.
Education
He obtained a degree in accounting from Cairo University in 1988 and studied for his Ph.D at the University of Wales.
Career
He worked as both an accountant and preached in mosques in 1990. Nearly a decade later, he moved to work full-time as a preacher on satellite television.
He appeared on many television shows such as “Call for Coexistence” in 2007, “Life Makers”, “Qur’an Stories” and “In Thy Name We Live”.
Honors
He was elected the 6th top intellectual person in the world on the top 100 public intellectuals by Prospect magazine (UK) and Foreign Policy (United States).
