About Aniello Dellacroce
During his teens, Aniello Dellacroce was involved in a number of petty crimes. He started gaining notoriety during the 1930s when he became a member of Vincent Mangano’s crime group. After Carlo Gambino took charge of the group in 1957, Dellacroce was elevated to the underboss position.
Arrests and convictions
After he failed to respond to questions from a grand jury, the American mobster was charged with contempt and was given a year jail sentence in 1971. The following year, he was charged with tax evasion. In 1973, after he was found guilty, he was slapped with 5 years jail sentence and a fine of $15,000. He was also arrested in 1979 for the murder of Charles Calise, which happened five years earlier.
Family
He spent his early years with his parents Antoinette and Francesco Dellacroce. He was married to Lucille Riccardi and had four children, including Armond who would follow in the footsteps of his father.
Death
Dellacroce’s demise was caused by cancer in 1985.
Trivia
Peter Boretski portrayed his character in the 1994 film “Getting Gotti”.
He was known by many nicknames including “The Polack” and “Mr. Neil”.
