About Anil Kumble
Anil Kumble is a former Indian international cricket legend who also served as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. He is best known to have had one of the most illustrious cricketing careers in Indian history, spending over his 18 years as professional. He is widely considered as one of the greatest leg-spin bowlers in the history of Test cricket.
Anil Kumble’s career in brief
Having been passionate about cricket during his early years he commenced his career at age 19 representing Karnataka in domestic competitions in the late 1980s. Owing to his phenomenal performances he progressed to become a professional representing several high-profile teams like Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Surrey, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He is known to have played in over 132 International games for India and boasts several notable records, including dismissing all ten batters in a Test match innings. Following his retirement, he served as the head of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) cricket committee.
He and Chethana Ramatheertha became a married couple in 1999.
He has three children namely Mayas Kumble, Aaruni Kumble, and Svasti Kumble.
This Indian cricket legend was born to Krishna Swamy and Saroja.
He was raised together with Dinesh Kumble, his brother.
