About Anna Harrison
Anna Harrison born as Anna Tuthill Symmes was known to be the First Lady of the United States, serving as the First lady for just a month.
Personal life
She was the daughter of John Cleves Symmes and Anna Tuthill. She was brought up by her grandparents because she lost her mother at a very young age and she had her education at Clinton Academy.
Anna’s engagement with William Henry Harrison was initially disapproved by her father but since love conquers all, the two secretly got married in 1795. Anna and William gave birth to 10 children.
Her husband gained popularity as an Indian Fighter during the War of 1812. He then served at the congress and was later appointed as the governor of Indiana Territory.
In March 1841, William Henry Harrison was elected as the president of the United States; and during his swearing-in, Anna Harrison was unable to attend because she was faced with health issues. Her husband served as the president of the U.S for a month. He passed away in April, 1841.
