About Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Anne Morrow Lindbergh’s reputation soared following her union with the celebrated aviator, Charles Lindberg. Born Anne Spencer Morrow, she was 22 years old when she married Lindbergh, with whom she would later go on exploratory flights and live in Europe.
The couple lost the high esteem which the public held them in when they declared their support for fascism, especially through Morrow’s book, “The Wave of the Future”. Following World War II, her shift from politics and focus on her career as an author earned her a better reputation. “Gift from the Sea” is one of her best-known works.
She was the daughter of businessman Dwight Morrow and poet Betty Cutter Morrow. She had three siblings. She had six children with Lindberg. The couple moved to England after their first son, who was twenty months at the time, was kidnapped.
She won a Hubbard Medal in 1934.
She died from a stroke on 7 February 2001.
