Background & Education
He is from Donaueschingen, Germany. However, due to World War II, his family moved to Ottersdorf, where he grew up.
In 1965, Keifer graduated high school in a Rastatt public school. The artist then enrolled at the University of Freiburg to read Romance languages and pre-law. However, he changed his courses to art after just three months. In 1969, he successfully earned his art degree.
Works
He has described his primary sources of inspiration to be traditional mythology, libraries, and books. In 1969, the artist presented his first single artwork (exhibition), "Besetzungen (Occupation)," with a collection of photographs, which described controversial political actions. The exhibition was at "Galerie am Kaiserplatz."
The artist has conducted over 20 exhibitions and has over 50 artworks to his credit; however, his most unique and notable work would be "20 Years of Solitude" – an artwork that took him about 20 years to complete (1971-1991).
Most of his art collections can be found in the famous art museums of America and numerous European countries.
