About Armin Meiwes
Armin Meiwes is a German who gained international notoriety for his cannibalistic deeds which saw him kill and eat the flesh of a willing victim whom he met on the Internet. Nicknamed the Rotenburg Cannibal, he met his voluntary victim, an engineer named Bernd Jürgen Armando Brandes after posting an advertisement on the website The Cannibal Cafe in which he stated that he was looking for someone to slaughter and consume. The two met in Meiwes' home where Meiwes amputated Brandes' penis and attempted to eat the severed penis together with Brandes. He later killed his willing victim and proceeded to eat the body over a period of 10 months.
Trivia
It was revealed during his trial that he committed the act for sexual gratification. He was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
He became a vegetarian while in prison.
