He was an American television and Radio Personality who was born in Canada.
Personal Life
When he was born, he was named Arthur Gordon Kelly even though he did not know his parents or siblings. He was adopted by Fulton John Linkletter who was a preacher and Mary Metzler. They enrolled him at San Diego High School then he continued to San Diego State University which was San Diego State Teachers College at the time. While there, he joined the basketball team and the swimming team. In 1935, he met and married Lois Foerster.
Career
He worked on radio after school but not long after, he got into acting. In 1946, he played the role of Master of Ceremonies in “People Are Funny”. He has also been on “Life with Linkletter”, “The Jack Benny Program”, “The Danny Thomas Show” and “The Red Skelton Hour”. He also executive produced “Kids Say the Darndest Things” for about two years between 1998 and the year 2000.
Death
He had a stroke in 2008 and even though it was mild, it weakened him. About two years later, he died.
