Babydaddy is an American musician and Ivor Novello Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, backing vocalist, and composer for the Scissor Sisters, a glam rock band from the United States.
Family and Background
He spent the majority of his childhood in Lexington, Kentucky, where he attended Henry Clay High School. He studied writing and music production at Columbia University before working in the area of dance music. In 1999, he graduated from Columbia University. He is gay.
Career and Notable Works
Some of his most notable works include “Layer Cake” (2004), “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World”” (2012), and “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People” (2008).
He plays the keyboard, guitar, bass, and banjo. He and Jake Shears serve as the primary lyricists for the band.
Collaborations
He collaborated with fellow Scissor Sisters' band member Jake Shears on Kylie Minogue's hit single "I Believe in You". He subsequently worked on the title track from Minogue's documentary “White Diamond: A Personal Portrait of Kylie Minogue”.
He has also collaborated with other artists such as Tiga and Xavier.
Remixes
In 2010, he remixed French singer Amanda Lear's single "I'm Coming Up". Working alongside Jake Shears, he has remixed songs by bands such as Pet Shop Boys and Blondie.
