About Bahá'u'lláh
After meeting Mullá Husayn at age 27, Bahá'u'lláh, then known as Mírzá Ḥusayn-ʻAlí Núrí, decided to become a Bábi and spread the teachings of the religion. He encountered lots of problems with leaders of Persia due to the love he had for the religion.
In 1863, while in exile, he established his new religion known as the Baháʼí Faith which sought to promote unity and global peace. According to records, there were close to 200,000 followers of the religion during the 1950s.
Books
Bahá'u'lláh also spread his beliefs through his many books. In 1873, he wrote the religion’s central book titled “Kitáb-i-Aqdas”. His other popular works were captioned “The Hidden Words” and “Book of Certitude”.
Family
He was the son of Mírzá Buzurg and Khadíjih Khánum. His three wives were called Ásíyih Khánum, Fátimih Khánum, and Gawhar Khánum. From his three marriages he had fourteen children including Mírzá Muhammad ʻAlí, ʻAbdu'l-Bahá, and Bahíyyih Khánum.
