Beatrix Potter was a celebrated English author and illustrator best remembered for writing one of the most famous children's books of all time, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was published in 1902 and has sold several millions of copies all over the world. Her other notable children's books include 1905's The Tale of the Pie and the Patty-Pan and 1918's The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse. She is widely regarded as one of the greatest children's authors of all time.
Family Life
She was born to Helen Leech and Rupert William Potter. She had a brother named Bertram. In 1913, she got married to William Heelis. The marriage ended with her death in 1943.

She never had any children of her own.
She loved animals and kept numerous animals as pets.
Away from children's literature, she was also a conservationist and natural scientist.
