About Beau Brummell
Beau Brummell was seen as a fashion icon during the nineteenth century. A dandy by nature, he gained fame mostly due to his association with King George IV. It was believed that Brummell influenced the fashion sense of the King, who was then a crown prince. During his time in the university, he produced cotton stockings.
His lifestyle has been portrayed in many literary works such as Thomas Henry Lister's 1826 book “Granby” and “Rodney Stone” which was published by Arthur Conan Doyle in 1896.
