The American was a student of Dos Pueblos High School before he went on to obtain his diploma certificate at Cerritos High School. He played as a shooting guard during his time at Santa Barbara City College. He continued at Weber State College. He later earned his master’s degree at Gonzaga University.
Achievements
In 1997, he won the Big Sky Conference “Coach of the Year”. He also won the Big East Coach of the Year in 2002. His other notable awards include Pac-10 Coach of the Year, and Dapper Dan Award.

He played professional basketball in Uruguay.
