About Benjamin Harrison
Benjamin Harrison was an American politician and lawyer best remembered for being the 23rd President of the United States, a position in which he served from 1889 to 1893. He was also known for being the grandson of William Henry Harrison, the ninth President of the United States. During his presidency, he made a number of achievements such as the creation of the U.S. National Forests and the modernization of the U.S. Navy.
Personal Life
He was married twice. His first marriage was to Caroline Scott, with whom he fathered two children: Russell and Mary Harrison. The marriage ended with Caroline's death in 1892. His second marriage was to a widow named Mary Scott Lord in 1896. He and Mary had one child, Elizabeth, and stayed married until his death in 1901.
Trivia
He was nicknamed "Little Ben" because of his short stature.
His children, Mary and Benjamin, were strongly against his second marriage and therefore refused attending the wedding.
