About Betty Hutton
She was an actress, singer, comedian and dancer who worked actively from 1938 to 1983. She performed as a singer in local bands when she was a teenager and unsuccessfully tried to get into Broadway on a visit to New York City. However, after bandleader Vincent Lopez scouted her, it opened doors for her in films, television and stage acting. She is famous for appearing in the film “Annie Get Your Gun" as Annie Oakley, the television series “The Betty Hutton Show” as Goldie Appleby and the Broadway musical “Annie” in 1980.

Her birth name is Elizabeth June Thornburg. Betty was the younger sister of actress Marion Hutton. Their mother, who passed away in 1967, had alcoholism problems.
Between 1945 and 1967, she married and divorced four times. Her ex-husbands include Ted Briskin, a camera manufacturer, Charles O’Curran, a choreographer, business executive Alan Livingston and jazz trumpeter Pete Candoli.
She had two daughters, Lindsay and Candace, with her first husband, Briskin.
Achievements
In 1944, she won a Golden Apple Award for “Most Cooperative Actress”.
