About Bill Bradley
William Warren Bradley, better known as Bill Bradley first came to prominence as a professional basketball player in the 1960s and the 1970s. He spent a year playing for the Olimpia Milano team in Italy before making his debut in the NBA with the New York Knicks in December 1967. He played for the Nicks from 1967 until 1977, when he retired.
He went into politics afterwards and got elected as the United States Senator from New Jersey in the 1978 elections. He occupied the office from 1979 until 1997. He lost out on the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate nomination in 2000.
Family Life
He was born to Susan Crowe and Warren Bradley as an only child. He was married to Ernestine Misslbeck Schlant from 1974 until their divorce in 2007. The marriage produced a daughter. He has been the partner of Betty Sue Flowers, an Emerita Professor of English.
Achievements
He was a two-time NBA champion. He is also a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He won a gold medal with the U.S. basketball team at the 1964 Olympics.
