Billie Jean King goes into the history books as one of the world’s most successful tennis players. Throughout her playing career, the American won thirty-nine Grand Slam trophies of which 27 came as a double player. In 1967, she was ranked number one in the world. She’s also celebrated for her role in the development of women’s tennis in the world.
