His numerous accomplishments include winning the PWI Wrestler of the Year award and the PWI Most Inspirational Wrestler of the Year award multiple times. He received his induction into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame and the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and 2013 respectively.
