About Bobby Nichols
Bobby Nichols made his PGA Tour debut in 1960. He shot to fame four years later when he won the PGA Championship. Following some breathtaking performances, the golfer was included in the American team for the 1967 Ryder Cup which they eventually won. Nichols completed his career with 12 PGA Tour victories.
Education
From St. Xavier High School, the renowned golfer enrolled at Texas A&M University (formerly called Agricultural & Mechanical College of Texas). He played for the institution’s golf team.
Achievements
He won over $124,000 at the 1974 edition of the PGA Tour. A golf course located in Waverly Park Country Club has been named after him.
Trivia
He was paralyzed for some time after he was involved in a car accident during his high school days.
Unfortunately for him, he was hit by lightning during the 1975 Western Open.
