About Bon Scott
Bon Scott was a Scottish-born Australian rock singer and drummer best remembered for being the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the iconic hard rock band AC/DC. He died tragically in 1980 after a night out of heavy drinking in London. He was 33 years old.
Achievements
He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 as a member of AC/DC.
He co-wrote AC/DC's hit song Highway To Hell, which Rolling Stone magazine placed at number 254 on their list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004.
In 2004, Classic Rock ranked him number 1 on their list of the 100 Greatest Frontmen.
Trivia
Prior to joining AC/DC, he was a member of a number of bands, including The Spektors and Fraternity.
In 1974, he was involved in a motorcycle incident that left him in a coma for three days.
The official cause of his death was acute alcohol poisoning.
