Boomer Esiason is an American sports commentator and retired professional footballer who began his career in the NFL playing for the Cincinnati Bengals. He also played for the New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals. After retiring from the NFL, he began a successful career in broadcasting with popular sport programs such as Monday Night Football on ABC and Boomer and Carton in the Morning.
Personal Life
He married Cheryl Esiason in 1986. The marriage produced a son named Gunnar and a daughter named Sydney.
Achievements
In 2004, he was honored with an induction into the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame. Throughout his career as a footballer, he was selected four times for NFL's annual all-star game (Pro Bowl).
Trivia
In the 19990s, after his son was diagnosed with the life threatening disease cystic fibrosis (CF), he founded the Boomer Esiason Foundation which creates awareness about the disease.
