About Boris Vian
Boris Vian was a famous French writer, poet, musician, singer, and among other professions. However, this jack of all trades is widely remembered for his musical prowess.
Background and education
The famous musician Vernon Sullivan was born into a wealthy family. Being the second child of 4 children with a health condition, his parents were overprotective. He enrolled in Lycee Hoche in Versailles, where he graduated and continued to pursue further mathematics.
Career
After graduating, the French musician moved to Paris in 1942 to become an engineer. He wrote his first novel in 1944. The novel, which was titled “Vercoquin and the Plankton”, was a huge success. However, music kept calling out to him, and as an accomplished jazz musician, he decided to form his choir and chalked up a great success. He then went on tours with hit songs like “Java Pour Petula” and “Le Déserteur”. The latter song, which was an anti-war song, received very positive reviews.
Vian is also known for his novels, including L'Écume des jours ( “The Foam of Days”) and J'irai cracher sur vos tombes ("I Spit on Your Graves")
