About Brett Lawrie
Brett Lawrie’s rise to fame began in 2008 when he was signed by MLB side Milwaukee Brewers. After spending two years in the minor league, the Canadian baseball player was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays. He went on to play for the Chicago White Sox and the Oakland Athletics before leaving the league in 2017.
International career
Lawrie represented Canada at some major international competitions. He was one of the key players of the team that won bronze at the 2009 edition of the Baseball World Cup.
Personal Life
His brother is softball player Danielle Lawrie. Until 2011, he was engaged to American soccer player Sydney Leroux. He married Dana Long, a model, four years later and the couple had their first son in 2018.
Trivia
In 2008, as the 16th overall pick, Lawrie became Canada’s fourth highest-drafted player in the history of the MLB.
