About Brian Harvey
Brian Lee Harvey is an English musician, famously known for being the lead singer of the band East 17. He released two hit singles, “Straight Up (No Bends)” and “Loving You (Ole Ole Ole)” in 2001 after leaving the band.
Early Life and Career
Harvey attended Sir George Monoux School in 1990. He first joined East 17 as a backup dancer but eventually became lead singer due to his impressive vocal style. In 1997, he was sacked from the band after he made several comments in apparent support of drug use.
He started his solo career and also appeared on the reality TV show “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in 2004. The singer also competed in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest but was eliminated in the first round.
Personal Life
He has a daughter, Teigan, with dancer Natasha Carnegie. In 2005, Harvey was hospitalized after attempting to commit suicide while battling depression.
