About Bruce Smith
During his time in the NFL, Bruce Smith made a name for himself as one of the best defensive ends to ever feature in the league. Throughout his professional career, which spanned for close to two decades, the American played for the Buffalo Bills, and Washington Redskins. He however recorded most of his successes with the former.
He joined the league in 1985 after he was drafted by the Bills. During his 14 years spell with the team, he played in four Super Bowls in a row. He was also named in the Pro Bowl on eleven occasions. He went on to play for the Washington Redskins from 2000 to 2003.
Other businesses
Since retiring from the game, Smith has entered into hotel designing. With support from Armada Hoffler, the former NFL star has completed many projects including the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel.
He’s also known as one of the business partners of Thurman Thomas. Together they have an organization called Legends Energy Group.

He and Carmen have a child called Alston.
Education
Smith caught the attention of many football lovers during his time at Booker T. Washington High School, before joining Virginia Tech where he continued his football career.
Achievements
In 2009, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Three years before that, he was made a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. His name has been included in the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame.
Trivia
The Buffalo Bills have honored him by retiring his favorite number 78 jersey.
During his time in college he was nicknamed "The Sack Man".
