This “American Idol” alumni is best known for hit country songs like "A Different World", "It's Good to Be Us" and "I'll Walk". Playing the drummer and guitar, Covington has created a niche for himself in the world of Country rock music.
Before Fame
He was born William Joel “Bucky” Covington to a North Carolina family alongside his identical twin brother “Rocky” in 1977. Covington was interested in music from an early age; and by his 18th birthday, he was playing the guitar, drums and writing songs. In 2006, the Covington twins auditioned for singing competition TV series “American Idol” and Bucky moved on to the final twelve.
Career
His first album “Bucky Covington” peaked at No 4 on Billboard 2000, making it the best opening week for a debut album by a male on the chart since 1992. The album also made it to the summit of the Billboard Top Country Albums. The North Carolina-born musician went on to release his second album “Good Guys” in the years that followed.
He also tried his hands on acting, appearing in “Still the King” and “Under the Stadium Lights”.
Personal Life
Covington and Katherine Cook welcomed a daughter in 2014.
