About Bud Spencer
Bud Spencer was the stage name of Italian actor, professional water polo player and swimmer, Carlo Pedersoli. In the 1950s, he juggled his acting job alongside his professional swimming job. Within that decade, he represented Italy at two Summer Olympic Games, one European Championship and two Mediterranean Games.
When he turned his focus to films in the 1960s, he rose to international fame through his partnership with fellow Italian actor, Terence Hill, with whom he appeared in films such as “God Forgives... I Don’t”, “Boot Hill”, and “Crime Busters”.
Family Life
He was born to Rosa Facchetti and Alessandro Pedersoli. He had three children with his wife Maria Amato.
Achievements
He was the recipient of a David di Donatello Special Award. He was also given the Italian Swimming Federation’s “Caimano d’oro” award.
Death
He died in Rome on 27 June 2016. He was 86.
