About Butch Hartman
American animator, producer, writer, director, and voice actor Butch Hartman is best known for his work on Nickelodeon's "The Fairly OddParents”, "T.U.F.F. Puppy" and “Bunsen is a Beast”.
Family and Background
He was born Elmer Earl Hartman IV but was given the nickname Butch, which stuck with him into adulthood. He grew up in Roseville, Michigan, and spent his adolescence in New Baltimore. In 1983, he graduated from Anchor Bay High School in New Baltimore and went on to the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. He appeared on “The Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour” as a young student and won nearly $3,000.
Career
He got his start in animation as an in-betweener on Don Bluth's “An American Tale” (1986). Later, he worked as an artist in Hanna-Barbera Productions' Model Department on Cartoon Network's “Dexter's Laboratory” (1996–97), and “Johnny Bravo” (1997–99), etc.
His collaboration with Nickelodeon Animation Studio resulted in the creation of several television shorts titled “The Fairly OddParents”. In 2001, Nickelodeon adapted “The Fairly OddParents'' as a full-length animated series. He went on to create a number of made-for-TV animated and live-action films based on the series.
He has been involved with animated series “Hobbykids Adventures”, which debuted on YouTube in 2019.
