Carlos Peña is a Dominican retired professional baseball player who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) as a first baseman from 2001 to 2014. He began and ended his career in the MLB with the Texas Rangers.
He also played for the Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals.
Family Life
He is the eldest of the four children of Marisela and Felipe Peña. When he was 12 years old, he moved from the Dominican Republic with his family to the United States.
He has three children with his wife, Pamela.
Achievements
His awards earned in the MLB include the 2009 Gold Glove Award, the 2008 Silver Slugger Award, and the 2007 AL Comeback Player of the Year Award.
Trivia
He has served as a spokesman for the charity organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
