About Carole King
Carole King is an American composer and singer/songwriter.
Career
Carole King had a passion for music at a young age, learning piano at the age of four. Interestingly enough, she was friends with famous singer and songwriter Paul Simon. He recorded demos for her band at the time, which was called the Co-Sines. In the 1960s, Carole King and her then husband wrote many hit songs for popular artists. As a singer, Carole King's most successful album was Tapestry, which was the number one album on the charts for 15 weeks in 1971. She has also recorded 24 other solo albums.

Carole King, accompanied by Jon Carroll on the keyboard, and Arlen Schierbaum on the guitar, sings for about 1,500 sailors and Marines aboard the USS Harry S. Truman in the Mediterranean. The three were among the celebrities and entertainers who performed Dec. 16, 2000, during Defense Secretary William S. Cohen's fourth and final holiday tour.
