Carrie Symonds is a British environmental campaigner who first gained worldwide recognition in 2019 when her romantic involvement with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was revealed by the British media. Her association with Johnson started somewhere in 2012 when she joined the team that successfully worked on his London mayor re-election bid.
Personal Life
Carrie is the daughter of Josephine Mcaffee and the renowned British journalist, Matthew Symonds, one of the founders of The Independent.
She got engaged to Boris Johnson at the end of 2019. The couple first announced their engagement to the world on February 29, 2020. In making the announcement, they also revealed that they were expecting their first child together, who came into existence on 29th of April 2020.
Trivia
In 2018, Carrie (who was only 29 years old) became the Conservative Party's head of communication. In achieving this feat, she made history by becoming the youngest person to ever hold that position in the Conservative Party.
In July of 2019, Carrie officially moved into Downing Street to live with Boris Johnson. In doing so, she and Johnson made history by becoming the first unmarried couple to officially live in Downing Street.
Carrie was once denied visa to enter the United States in August 2019. This was because she had previously visited the Republic of Somaliland - a state under the Trump travel ban.
