Charles Stanley, birth name Charles Frazier Stanley, was a well-known religious leader in America. He was a Pastor Emeritus and served as a senior pastor for over half a century. He was also the founder of the famous American evangelism ministry, “In Touch Ministries.”
Background & Education
He lived in Dry Fork, Virginia, throughout his childhood. At age twelve, he accepted to believe in the ministry of Jesus Christ and became a “born-again Christian.” He then began to evangelize to other people at age 14.
He held a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and a master’s degree in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The religious leader also had a “Doctor of Ministry” degree from Luther Rice Seminary, Florida.
Christian Ministry
He founded “In Touch Ministries” in 1977. His vision for the ministry was to lead people to believe in Jesus Christ and strengthen local churches. The ministry’s show “In Touch” began to air on the “Christian Broadcasting Network” in 1978. Over the years, the show garnered a large audience, and in America, it has been broadcast on about 800 TV and radio stations.
In 1985, he was elected to lead the “Southern Baptist Convention.” He became a Pastor Emeritus on September 13, 2020.

He was married to Anna Johnson Stanley from 1955 until their divorce in 2000.
