About Charles W. Fairbanks
Charles W. Fairbanks was a Republican politician who served as the United States’ vice-president between 1905 and 1909. Prior to assuming officer, Fairbanks represented Indiana State in the U.S. Senate. During his time in the house, he worked closely with President William McKinley as his counselor.
He also chaired a number of working groups including the Committee on Public Buildings and Grounds, and the Committee on Immigration.
Family
He was the son of Loriston Monroe Fairbanks and Mary Adelaide Smith. During his time as the vice-president, his wife Cornelia Cole served as the Second Lady of the country. The politician was blessed with five children.
Education
Fairbanks was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.
Death
The former vice-president was diagnosed with nephritis which caused his death at age sixty-six.
