About Cheik Tiote
Cheik Tiote was a football player from Cote d'Ivoire. He was a defensive midfielder. He started his career as a youth player for FC Bibo in Ivory Coast. In 2005, he debuted as a professional player for Anderlecht in the Belgian First Division A.
In 2008, Tiote moved to FC Twente in Holland and spent two years with the club. He later changed his destination to England where he joined Newcastle United of the English Premier League. Tiote played for the club for six and half seasons before signing for the Beijing Sport University Football Club in 2017.
In 2009, he made his international debut. He played for his national team until 2015. Tiote represented Cote d'Ivoire at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup tournaments, and 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015 CAF Africa Cup of Nation. He made 340 appearances for clubs and country while netting 5 goals.

He had 10 siblings. He had two wives. Madah was his first wife. In 2014, he tied the knot with Laeticia Doukrou, his second wife. He also dated Nkosiphile Mpofu. Tiote gave birth to three children.
Death
In 2017, Tiote died, from a heart-related problem, while he was training.

He won two Belgian League titles and the Belgian Super Cup with Anderlecht. In 2010, he won the Dutch Super Cup with FC Twente. He also won the Eredivisie title with the said club. In 2015, he won the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast.
