Chris Hedges is a highly-rated American journalist known for his reportage on the infamous Yugoslav wars. During that period, he was the Middle East Bureau Chief for The New York Times. He joined the organization in 1990, and for 15 years, he served as their foreign correspondent.
He has also gained fame for his time with other media organizations like Dallas Morning News, The Christian Science Monitor, and National Public Radio.
Writing career
Aside from his work with the various media outlets, Hedges has also found fame for his many published books. His first recognized work came in 2002 titled “War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning”. Some of his other popular books are “Death of the Liberal Class” and “American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America”.

He has been married to a lady called Eunice Wong. Together, the couple have two kids. He also has two from his former marriage.

He was a student of Loomis Chaffee School before earning his first degree at Colgate University. He also attended Harvard University.

In 2002, Amnesty International gave him its “Global Award for Human Rights Journalism” prize.
