About Chris Smith
Chris Smith is an American rapper and record label executive who is known best for his membership of the now-defunct rap duo, Kris Kross.
He was only 12 years old when he and Chris Kelly (now deceased) made their debut in 1991. Their first album, “Totally Krossed Out” was released in 1992 under Ruffhouse Records, with help from Jermaine Dupri, who had discovered them the previous year.
Their run came to an end with Kelly’s death in 2013. The duo is still remembered for hits such as “Jump”, “Warm It Up” and “Live and Die for Hip Hop”.
Personal Life
He was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was educated in marketing and business management at Woodward Academy.
Achievements
The Kris Kross song, “Jump” achieved double-platinum certification and stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1992 for eight consecutive weeks.
Trivia
