The American screenwriter has worked severally with popular film director Bryan Singer. The duo have produced works such as the award-winning “The Usual Suspects” and “Valkyrie”. In the latter, which starred Tom Cruise, Bill Nighy, and Kenneth Branagh, McQuarrie co-wrote the screenplay with Nathan Alexander.

Career
McQuarrie was offered his first screenplay opportunity by American filmmaker Bryan Singer who was his school mate. He wrote the screenplay and directed the action thriller film “The Way of the Gun” in 2000.
He also collaborated with American actor producer Tom Cruise on films such as “Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation” and the sequel “Mission: Impossible – Fallout”. The films starred actors Simon Pegg and Sean Harris.
McQuarrie wrote the screenplay for the 2014 film “Edge of Tomorrow”, directed Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise as Major William Cage.
Awards
His work “The Usual Suspects” won him a BAFTA Award, Academy Award and Independent Spirit Award for “Best Original Screenplay”.
