About Chuck Taylor
Hailing from the United States of America, Chuck Taylor was a professional basketball player. He also doubled as a basketball product salesperson. He was widely known for promoting a brand of shoe collection named Converse All-Stars.
Taylor started playing semi-professional basketball in 1919 when he was at the age of seventeen. The first team he played for was the Columbus Commercials.
He played both on the professional and semi-professional levels. In the 1920s, Taylor brought his basketball career to a close while he totally focused his attention on his sales career. However, in 1926, he turned into a basketball player-manager. Also, during the Second World War, he managed the Wright Field Air-Tecs basketball team (1944 to 1945). In 1968, Taylor retired from all his duties.

He was educated at Columbus High School.
Family
He was the offspring of James A. Taylor and Aurilla Cochran. His first wife was named Ruth Adler – he divorced her in 1957. Five years later, he tied the knot with his second wife called Lucille Kimbrell.
Death
He died as a result of a heart attack in 1969.
Awards and Honors
In 1958, Taylor was elected into the Sporting Goods Hall of Fame. Also, in 1969, he became an inductee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In 1989, after his death, he was made the Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer.
