Cícero João de Cézare was the name given to him when he was born. However, Cicinho is his nickname. He started his professional journey with the Brazilian club Botafogo-SP in 1999.
After making a few appearances for Botafogo-SP, he joined another Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro in 2001. He gained global recognition during his time with São Paulo, a Brazilian club he joined in 2004. His performances there attracted the attention of various top-notch European clubs including Spanish giants, Real Madrid. He signed for Madrid in 2006 and then joined Italian club AS Roma, the following year.
Achievements
Cicinho won many major trophies throughout his career. In 2005 he was a member of the Brazilian team that won the FIFA Confederations Cup. He won the La Liga title during his time with Real Madrid. In Italy, he won the Coppa Italia with AS Roma.
Trivia
He is also a citizen of Italy. In fact, his grandfather hails from the Italian region known as Abruzzo.
Between 2005 and 2006 this star played 15 games for the Brazilian national team.
